Michael Navarro is an Agriculture Environmental scientist who achieved both Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Agricultural Environmental Sustainability Studies from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He spent time working closely with the Texas Department of Transportation constructing wildlife corridors, to ensure the safe passage of endangered mammals and reptiles between areas of land and highway. As former USDA National Needs Fellow, and laboratory technician from the Soil, Water, Environmental Lab at UTRGV he hopes to utilize his education and concentration in soil science to understand how the different types of soil ranging from mixes of sand, clay, and loam in the Rio Grande Valley influence how well native species of trees and shrubs can propagate.
